Transformers enroute to SPI

Transformers, conduit, and other critical equipment and materials for completion of the Airport Distribution Feeder Replacement Project are enroute to Saint Paul Island and are expected to arrive in April or May. Contractors are expected to mobilize in May to complete the project.

Additional funding secured

The City was selected to receive additional grant funding from State of Alaska, Dept. of Commerce, Community and Economic Development, Div. of Community and Regional Affairs to complete the project, which experienced a cost overrun in 2025.

Alaska Geothermal selected as lowest bidder

Construction to resume summer 2026

Bristol will be arriving to the island at the end of July to install the fencing and gate, the signage, and the bollards at the Aalax Landfill. 3 Tier Alaska will return in late summer to perform the final survey and prepare As-Builts.
