Alaska Geothermal started work on the small boat harbor utilities on July 29th. They were able to move the Manitowoc crane that was blocking the area where the trench was going to be dug for the water and utility lines. At the beginning of August, the water pipes were placed in the trench and the connections started. The cast iron pipe running parallel to Polovina Turnpike was dug up and a 10” connection was made. On August 7th, the pipe was pressure tested and then the road was backfilled and compacted. On August 12th, the trenching for the hydrants began and the valve connections for the water and hydrant were done. In mid-August, the valve box for the second hydrant was installed.
